SUPERMUM RULES THE WORLD!

{June 28, 2008}   Supermummy

It’s tough to be a supermum. Or is there no supermums in this world. When you hear of supermum, you think its your mummy flying around the world saving people. However its not. Its actually, a women who works everyday, taking care of the domestic work and she is a mother! These women are amazing! Thy wake up early in the morning doing household chores, work and take care of their children. Usually, mothers will just give up their job and be a full-time mother, devoted to take care of her children. However supermum’s would not give up their jobs. Men used to be the only one who needed to work and support the family in the olden days while women stay at home to look after the family, but now its modern time. More mothers are working now. Taking care of the house alone is already quite tough but these mothers not only take care of the family but are able to manage their career quite well! If you think that being a full-time mother is very stressful, mothers who work will already have gone crazy. So I think that supermums are great mothers.

{June 23, 2008}   A supermum’s job

Let’s face it all mothers are amazing, wonderful and fabulous human beings. You have to be super to go through the whole pregnancy process, child birth, breast feeding, bottle feeding, sleep deprivation, life changing, sensational and wonderful process that is motherhood.

Where we all fall down is that we think we can do everything perfectly all the time.

You all know what I’m talking about, before you go to bed you set up the breakfast table, start the lunches for the following day and have everything ready to go for the next day. You get up at 6, finish the lunches, finish getting breakfast on the table, shower and get yourself organised. Get the children up at 6.45, dressed and at the table by 7, breakfast finished, teeth brushed, bags packed and in the car by 7.40…. and then…. Just as you’re buckling in the 2 year old, you smell that smell……Just when everything was going perfectly, you were going to miss the traffic, you were going to get everyone to school on time, now it’s all changed. And even after you send your children to school, you have to rush to work, whether or not it is a part or full time job. When you miss the traffic, most probably, you will get to work late. Worse still, an angry boss will wait for you in the office. How can things ever go worse than this?

To be a supermum, all these stuff would be a routine, and there shouldn’t be any mistakes made. Can we actually do all these?

{June 20, 2008}   What is more importatnt?

As a working mother, i think that failing to juggle work commitments and domestic responsibilities successfully can give rise to feelings of stress and guilt. The key is to establish an optimum work-life balance, which enables me to maximise my quality of life while meeting all my commitments in the best way I can. This can often involve making compromises.

Establishing a more favourable work-life balance requires me to recognise what my values are. These are how much importance I attach to my family, friends, self, lifestyle and work.

{June 16, 2008}   Struggles Of A Supermum

Does Supermum really exist or more credibly should Supermum exist? Is it right that women should be put through the stresses and strains of balancing childcare, work, relationships and housework and still be expected to attain perfection in all fields?Seven out of ten young women say they want to take it easier than their mothers did, and one in four would like to give up work altogether to raise a family. Many said they found females who combine a lucrative career with bringing up a family ‘irritating’ and ‘unhelpful’.
According to ABC news reports, there are concerns that many women who suffer from postnatal depression are not getting help because they feel social pressure to mask the condition.

Let’s face it, most so-called Supermums are on their best behaviour in public: nobody sees those stressful moments that are mostly kept secret.

Men used to be the only one who needed to work and support the family ,while women stay at home to look after the family. I feel that taking care of the house alone is already quite tough, however women now not only try to take care of the family but also  manage their career! You can imagine how stressful that is . Although times have change, most people still believe that it is a women’s responsibilty to teach the children and do all the housework, and some even  get blamed if things dont turn out well.

Yoyo! My name is Jane Koh Wan Yi, a working mother. I have 2 lovely, chubby and adorable boys. I am 40 years old and has been married for 16 years already! I am a successful manager in my company, a good mother and definitely a gentle wife!

Now I will tell you what I do normally in 24 hours… In the morning I normally wake up at 5am to prepare the family’s breakfast and some preparation for my boys and husband. Then I will wake my boys up at 6am, after they had finished their food I will send them down and wait the school bus with them. After I went up, I will start to clean the house and wake my husband up at 7.45am. Then after we had the breakfast, he will send me to my company and he will go to work. From about 9am to 5pm is my normal working hours, but I always got to work extra in order to finish the project and some time I even got to bring the projects home. I will reach home the lastest at 7.30pm together with my husband. I have to do house chorces for about one hour after I had bathed and had dinner with my family. Then I had to teach my boys their homework… After that, then is my own time! I will be in my special room practicing Indian dance and Hip-Hop dance which I learn on Sunday or I will sing “Karaoke” or I will doing my sewing or knitting when I was watching television programme! Or drawing, which I learned on Saturday. On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday I cannot do this because I have French language lessons at night. These days I will be bed very late at night while other days I will sleep before 10.30pm. And face the coming morning and the lovely day! Although I am quite busy in a sense but I enjoy that I have and what I have done! I also can feed myself on my own and be a independent woman in my career and a good mum for my children! So what’s up man! That’s small case for me!

Don’t need to ask…

Of course is Siwen! :0

Everyday, I start off by waking up from my spongy bed from bikini bottom, and I turn off the ringing alarm coming from my metal horn-shaped alarm. I then walk to my kitchen in my bunny slippers, and make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for my whole family. My family loves crunchy peanut butter and jellyfish jelly with white, toasted bread. Next, I blow my whistle and ask my slimy snail to fetch the morning paper from the porch. Everytime I ask my slimy snail to fetch the morning paper, the morning paper will be covered with slime. I will then have to use my checkered cloth which is hot pink, to wipe off the slime on the slimy newspaper.

After all that, I head to my shiny silver basin to wash my slimy hands and cloth. Next, I will go to my children’s room, and sing the goofy goober’s song to wake them up. I then help them to wash up in my bathroom, which has a wall with flowery pineapples, a toilet bowl, a bathtub and a sink. After washing up, they have to wear their 100% cotton uniforms, which is full of polka dots.

Next, I will escort them down my polished wooden stairs, to the smooth dining table, made of glass. They will eat their yummy breakfast under the bright chandelier after saying grace. When they are done with their yummy crunchy peanut butter and jellyfish jelly sandwich, they will then proceed to the front porch, to wear their polished shoes, and long striped socks. I drive them to their autonomous school in my sky blue boat. I always squash plankton on my way to their autonomous school. Plankton doesn’t scold me, because he wants the krabby patty formula from Mr. Krabs, who is my boss.

After sending the kids to their autonomous school, I drive to Krusty Krabs, to work there as a fry cook. I work with my greasy stove and my favourite shiny metallic spatula. I enjoy frying krabby patties, and working with Squidward in the Krusty Krabs.

After a tiring day at work, I rush back to my pineapple house in my sky blue boat, to prepare dinner for the family. Occasinally, Mr. Krabs would allot me to take home some krabby patties for my family, for dinner. My family loves krabby patties, so they always look forward to having krabby patties for dinner.

Before dinner, the family will bathe in the slippery bathtub, then we will gather at the dining area to enjoy our scrumptious meal. After dinner, we watch our favourite programme on the television, with our slimy snail. After the programme ends, the children will go up to their lovely study room and complete their challenging homework.

After completing their homework, they will change into their silky pajamas, and I will tuck them into bed, and sing a lullaby to help them go to la-la-land. Their favourite lullaby is “Rock-a-bye, baby”. After tucking them into bed, I will join my husband in our bedroom, and we will sleep on our spongy bed.
